Today when riding every time my Rubicon or my friends kfx400 would go in water near or deeper than the gas tank it would stall out and then stop running. After floating them out they would take a while to start and sometimes they won’t run without the chock on, it took almost 30 minutes one time for my Rubicon to run one time. What could be wrong with our atvs?

 

Well are u a smart rider that taked his air box lid of if u are thats the problem.Other wise just get a boat. KEEP air box lid ON at all times.

I agree with Honda125 on getting a boat because you are using your quad as a anchor, a expensive one at that.

You are kidding about wondering the problem right? On most machines the top of the gastank is where your air intake is; ie used to suck air and not water[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img].

If you are going to keep it in water that's pretty deep, you may want to get a snorkel kit. One for the quad, one for you when you fish it out.

 

Ya, last I knew, when you sink your airbox in water and it sucks all that water in, its usually not to healthy on the quad.....if your getting into deep water pits like that..you defenetly need to get a snorkel kit...

 

Oh, and as for whats wrong with your quads...well you sucked water in the air intake (you drowned your quad!!) you need to take out the carb and clean it out....its just going to take a while to get all the water out and everything running the way it use to be....My advice...clean the carb...put some really good gas in it...if you get it running...just ride it as long as you can to get everything flowing through out your machine.....

p.s. don't drown your quad again,,they are like me and you...can't breath under water!

I thinnk what wrong is where you put your machine keep to shallow water and your machine and environment will be better in the long run.
