My Grizzly ate a jack rabbit

In Oregon it's a crime to even chase animals. It's called 'harassing wildlife'.
It's probably illegal in most other states, as well, considering the state of our great nation these days.
It's one thing for something to be immoral, but to make it illegal? Freaking nanny governments. I can do w/o that crap.
Now, do I chase animals? Only the neighbor's dogs. What would I do if I caught one? I dunno... let you know when it happens. Having chased (on foot) my grandma's farm rabbits when I was a spry youngster, I would be nothing short of AMAZED if you could actually run a fleet footed jackrabbit down on any sort of quad. That would be something to see.

this probably doent relate in any way but my great grandma chased a cougar out of the yard with her trusty broom. I dont know why i wrote this but something about him saying "chasing a herd of jackrabbits with a quad and being a spry youngster brought that thought on.

I just want to make this clear, the first story in this thread was made up. It seems some people just read the first post and then go right to the end to comment.
I don't condone chasing wildlife. It's illeagle and it makes our sport look bad. Also, don't ride on private property without permission. The farmer who owns the field that I was riding across is my neighbor and I help him with his field work, so I had permission to ride across the field. As stated in previous posts, riding across plowed fields can do damage and again makes all ATVers look bad.
Chasing animals-----------------------------------------------BAD
Riding on private property without permission----------BAD
Calling me names for chasing the wabbit----------------GOOD
Be safe over the holiday.
Peace

Starky, in contradiction to your latest story version, both your first and second posts promote this running down and killing animals idea. Since that time you have come up with this "It's all a joke to see how you react" line. Then you claimed to run down deer for a living. Now you're trying to take the high road and preach to everybody what we all should do regarding wildlife!! As if you had a clue.
You are all over the map, buddy, and probably wouldn't know the truth if you fell over it. I'm done with this collection of yarns. Grow up and leave the animals alone.

Last summer I was riding my 250R down the highway at full throttle after getting it jetted up real good, probably cruisin about
73/74mph and this darned grouse just HAD to fly out in front of me at the last second....oh man, ever seen a bird literally EXPLODE?

I had to sign up after reading this post. I do see for and against, however It may be fun to chase down animals, but it is just another reason for those tree huggers and the wacko enviromentalist elete to try and keep us out of the forest and from using the land of our fore fathers.
we need to be wise and use comon sense or soon these areas will be closed to every one. we do not need to destroy every thing we encounter on the trail. be wise let the wild life live and enjoy them dont just scare them so the next time they hear you comming they just run and hide before you even get a chance to see them.
wise up!
