What Kind Of Truck Should I Get?
#1
I am in the process of signing the papers from my insurance company so that my truck will be totalled out, but I am without a vehicle... I want a truck... I would prefer a Diesel... I test drove a F-350 that has a chip, gauges, exhaust, lift, and tires... But it was $36K!! What would be the best one to get for around the price of $20K-$30K... I will be stepping up from my F-150 to a bigger one... I saw a 2001 Dodge 1500 that has 53,000 miles and lifted 4" with 35" tires on it... What Should I Get?

A buddy of mine has a new Ram Hemi with a lift and he loves it but it also gets 10-11 mpg. I'm actually a Ford man But own 2 Silverado's does that tell you anything. Granted they are both 1500's with the 5.3 gas motor and they are great. My 2wd gets 18-20mpg and my 4x4 gets 15-17mpg. They work good for towing my enclosed trailer but fully loaded I'm about 4500 to 5000 lbs on the trailer. Much more wieght than that and I would definatly go Diesel like your looking at. I've owned two Dodge 2500 Cummins Turbo's and Driven lots of Fords. If I was gonna buy a Diesel Go Ford all the way!
Good Luck!

From what I have read of the evaluations regarding the Nissan Titan pickup, I would look at that. Wish that was out when I picked up my F150 SuperCrew. Now that the F150 is paid off, dont have the appetite for another car payment.

I like the Duramax because you can get it with the Allison tranny, but I'm more of a chevy/toyota guy. Basically, the Ford guys are gonna say buy Ford and the Chevy guys are gonna say buy Chevy. Good luck I hope you get something you like

I'm a chevy man but that new Ford 6.0 diesel is no laughing matter. Puts out the most torque of any diesel. Buddy just got the '04 Cummins, traded his 6.0 ford and he loves the dodge better. The ford was a f-350 crew cab 4x4, long bed dually. The dodge is crew cab, 3/4 ton, 4x4, single wheel. He said he loves it. The mans got money to buy what he wants so I believe him about the dodge. Diesels run forever, get you a loaded used diesel with 50-80,000 miles on it and have fun with it. My girls uncle finally sold his 7.3 ford diesel. It had over 500,000 miles on it. Worked miles too. Pulled big 30ft+ boats across the U.S.

go with the f-250 with the diesel. our family loves it. my dad and mom both drive it. it will pull anything and it gets 20mpg no joke. this last weekend we used it for pulling stumps out of our yard and it never failed to pull one out. best thing about getting 20 miles to the gallon is if your pulling a trailer it doesn't matter. gas 87 is- 2.11 diesel-1.75 but it is a 39,000 dollar truck maybe a little out of your range. check out the pics of my truck.
