Mc Grath Super Motard

Basically you get a bike bike, throw some 17 inch wheels on it and street tires, along with a huge front brake rotor and you have a supermoto or supermotard or motard.
Supermoto racing is interesting in that it have street sections and dirt jumps and turns so the rider really has to know how to ride off-raod and asphalt.
What you are seeing right now is a jump in popularity toward street legal supermotos. These are sometimes called hoolagan bikes because they are great for jumping curbs, tearing up lawns, jumping rail road tracks, doing wheelies and stoppies.
There are only a handfull of street legal supermoto bikes you could buy. Most are converted from dirtbikes, the CRF450 is tops on the race circuit, with the WR450s and KTMs following closely. The problem is that in January of 2004 new rules and regualation put a stop to the licensing of these bikes. It's only a matter of time before manufacturers other than KTM jump into the picture.
Due to the lack of riding areas here in florida, I'm seriously considering the move.

Husaberg offers a production Super Moto bike from the factory. Its mainly KTM parts that goes into it though.
Definately a top knoch Hooligan bike. How are laws changing to prevent licensing them? All you need is lights, horn, and dot approved tires and you get a plate.
I saw a clip of McGrath slammin one of theese bikes around and he makes it look easy. On asphalt he was sliding through turns flat track style, then pulling a wheelie untill the next turn. I could get into that!

It's a lot harder than putting lights on a bike. Basically if you title says "For offroad use only" you are screwed. In the past (before Jan 2004) you could go to some states like colorado and get it registered and bring it back to Florida or California for example, and title it. They caught wind of that and put a stop to it. Now they look at your VIN, if it has an E or an C in the 8th digit colunm and you are trying to title it for the first time in a non-supermoto friendly state it is not going to happen.

Thats pretty sad that the fun poliece get that involved. If there is a demand for theese toys the factory will make it happen.
