It really depends on how much you like your Dakota. My Boss and Blazer will fit in the bed, but there is a downside. First the tail gate won't close. Second, the width of the rims on the quads is 1 inch wider than the width between the wheel wells. We had a 2002 that I loaded them (not at the same time) and it grooved the wheel wells. We had a spray-in bedliner so it wasn't that noticeable (well it was to me). Just got a 2004 last month, and I will not load the quads in it, they'll either go in my Ranger or on the trailer. If you don't have a bedliner, you may chip off some paint and have more trouble down the road with rust.

I really like it does have a bedliner but the width between the cab and the wheel well is only 21 inch so my Sportsman is like 26 from the bumper to the back of the wheel so I would have to make a platform so the front wheels are sitting on it that way it will not go throe the back window...

The truck is a 98 and it is loaded but I don’t know if I want to make the platform

I was at Sears recently and they had a ramp set up for garden tractors. I think it was about 40 bucks, made out of metal. The only thing is it may have to modified to make it wider. Didn't look like it would be that hard, just a piece of metal like a shelving brace is all they used. May still get one to put in the Ranger. I have hit the back window riding it into the bed, but thankfully didn't break it. I have made one out of 2x6 treated lumber I can put in and take out as needed, cost about 20 bucks to make it.

I never took any pics with it in the back of the old Dakota. I used to have pics of the ramp I made for the Ranger. I'll see if I can dig them up tonight when I get home. Might not be until tomorrow 'cause today's my birthday. My ESP is telling me I see alcohol in my near future.
The ramp does make it sit at an angle, but I never had any problem with it for 3 years now.
