Heavy Metal or Rap

well, how about this... one of the things that i am most proud of in my life is the fact that i have never owned any hip hop or rap albums... EVER. and for good reason. i sincerely believe that rappers are talentless poets who have no other way of getting their "work" published. sure, SOME metal may be all "AHHGAAAAAHHHAAAAHHH" but most of it isn't, and even the metal that is... the people in the band are way f-----g better at playing their instrument than the music played in rap. ANY rap.

i know what you mean, but bass guitar is DEFINITELY an instrument... it is basically a guitar an octave lower, less two strings (unless you have a 5, 6, or even 7 string bass). pretty much anything you can play on guitar you can play on bass, including, chords... sometimes you just have to use different chord shapes, but it is possible... anyway, i just thought i'd say that imo bass is an instrument.

Yeah, I know that bass guitar is an instument. But the bass that rockers and metal guys play is different than the computer generated bass that rappers use. That is what I was trying to convey. That the "bass" that rappers use is not from an instrument
