I say buy it, chop it, lower it, paint it red, put some massive slicks on it, and a built 460ci big block all chromed out with a blower sittin on top! Now that would be a Ford worth buying

But seriously, it all depends on how bad the drivetrain is and what you want to do with it. The same with the body. You could spend a few thousand or tens of thousands. On a project like that, it is easy to get carried away.

WHen I was in high school 10 years ago my dad and I bought a 1954 F-250 for $75. Tried to fix it up and all but just didn't have the time. I am heading back down to his house in Minnesota this weekend and we are actually going to pull it on our deer hunting land and make it into a deer stand.

So my point is, be sure you know what you are getting into, it can be a lot of work. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

i'd get it.

you don't have to consistently work on it..... just a few hours whenever you can find the time....

just keep it dry

a few new parts here and there, dont make it into a big stressful project

Get ready to open that checkbook wide open and let the moths escape.... You are talking about a huge project to fix and restore, just to get it running and looking good again is going to cost you quite a few thousand dollars. If you go the BBS route your are looking at one hell of a fit from mommy! LOL

Remember, you don't always have to buy brand new parts. They are nice, but you can also find them on the internet. Sometimes bumpers and stuff like that. When you get them, they might not be in the greatest shape, but buff them up a bit. One thing I used when my dad restored his 77 Chevy 1-ton pickup, was Never-Dull. It works just absolutely great. Put it on with the patches, then hit it with a buffer wheel. You can also find parts catalogs for them to, I have one here for my '54 Ford. You can go to macsautoparts.com to get a catalog. I would tell you exactly what I have invested in mine, but I Fabricated mine to fit a 4wd frame from a 77 shortbed F-150! In the end It will have a custom 10 inch suspension lift with 38" tires. Not yet decided on what tires yet. But the paint job is up next as soon as I can find time to finish the body work. I know the paint job I want will be around $4500! Well good luck with your choice.

Get metalforming tools, and visit junkyards a lot. become familiar with paint and body work.

Do it all yerself, and it don't have to cost an arm and a leg. I've restored 2 early 60's IH Scouts to showroom, and 1 79 El Camino.

hey man i say get it it will be a great experience.
i am big into cars and have quite a bit of experience.
my dad never was into cars not even when i tried to get him into it with me.
but he did help me out not too long ago finding a car though

it is a 67 impala SS396
it has a little rust in trunk on bottom of one door rockers have a little and lower rear quarters have the most rust.
it needs u-joints but other than that it is great. i got it for 2500
my plans are to leave it stock for now until i get enough money to do a frame-off resto
but i am gonna bag it and drag it until then
hopefully after x-mas i will have it bagged on stock wheels tires and hubcaps,
maybe a fuel cell but definitely some titanium drag blocks.
im gonna drag it everywhere and maybe get a relaxed atmosphere logo
i will hopefully have it at greeneville next year for anyone who knows what that is
