Default is it possible?

see, i have this cousin, hes a little big, and i was thinking if he were to get an atv what would fit his compacity, hes in the 320's and hes wider than tall, i had to burn him a little bit, but whats the minimum cc to handle him, if there even is one big enought, need to get a suspension upgraded.

p.s. hes only 16 and 5'6 and 325 pounds, 5 inches shorter than me

peace

WOW. i would say nothing under a 4x4 quad. maybe a bomb 650 sport, but a 4x4 would be better. a cheap one that could handle him easy would be a 500 sportsman. you can find them anywhere, for little money. heck, there cheap brand new, and can haul a load.
good luck.

but, if he does deside to buy, lets say, a blaster, can you post pics of him riding it? i got to see that!

It's totally possible.

Most of the max vehicle capacities are related to tires and not anything more.

I weigh over 300lbs and ride a Warrior. I ride with another guy who is about 350 and he rides a DVX400.

If the tires are aftermarket, and the suspension is set up for a heavy rider there are no problems. Engine size makes less of a difference than you might think.

Of course a guy on a Warrior that weighs 150 will beat me, but not by as much as you might think. It's a whole physics thing, mass/inertia..... terminal velocity..... obects already in motion....etc...things like that. In other words, once and object is in motion it doesn't take that much more power to keep it going than it takes to start it until you approach terminal velocity for a given mass. ATVs don't go anywhere near that fast.

Either way, if stock a utility ATV might be the best bet. It depends on how he rides and how athletic he is. Can he toss his body around enough to ride a sport machine? I've always been athletic so for me it's not a big deal. But for some heavier riders, they can't move around as well or as quickly and a sport machine might not be a good idea.

Either way he'll be fine with some practice.

I know a guy who is a BIG boy as well, and he with his bigger wife double on a 300ex! Now I wouldn't recomend this, because the ex is grunting something awful, but a 320pd rider can ride pretty much anything 400cc and up I would say. I mean I double my girlfriend fine and I would say together we are about 320.

Some sport quads Im positve he would be fine on would be a Z/KFX400, raptor, ds650, 400ex, kfx700, predator. Any of those should be fine if he can handle the quads. If he wants utility, again anything 400cc's and up should be just fine.

The only bike I would stay away from with larger amounts of weight would be 2-stroke, in my experience I have noticed the power fades with extra weight on those.

yeah, we have honda foreman Fe 450 and the suspension barely flexes when i hop up on it, but my future quad hopefully will be a raptor 660r, so thats the point i was trying to get through, i'm about 230 pounds, but still in my late teens and going to get bigger so if it can handle more, thats my dream atv.

peace
