Well all we need it the motherboard/case/soundcard. All the rest it sitting on the floor begging to be used... Its going to be a huge step up from the lappy or the 555mhz clunker under our desk

I'd recommend the Seagate SATA drives over the Maxtor. Seagate makes the most reliable SATA drives and they are great peformers.
That should be one smokin' PC. Congrats!

We've run Maxtor in all our previous computers and have not had a problem with them. So i'm going brand loyal on the drives... Hope to get Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM eventually expensive though.
What am i going to do with it? Well my dad is going to do high-performance word processing (j/k) lol. And i'm going into Flash Animation, Video Editing, Photoshop, and hardcore gaming

Go with what you like. I have a trashed maxtor drive laying on my desk. Never been very impressed with those drives. But if you like Maxtor then I can understand you wanting to stick with them! Go for it!
