i know arctic cat is notorious for great sleds, but what do you guys think, if i had the spare 10 grand i'd get one, but i want a damn green one, now they have have orange and red and black, i like the early 2000 2001 models all green, well the seat was at least, the cat i'm looking at is a arctic cat mountain cat 900 EFI 159" track, does arctic cat discontinue its early models and only build late models or do they still build any kind that the customer wants?
ski-doo, arctic cat, yamaha, polaris? which one you like? tell me why,
tell me this, say in the year 2008 or some time i might still like the styling of the 2004, but will i be able to get any year model i want, they have to please the customer, because i want the mountain cat 900 efi 159" just tell me what is possible.
thanks

A lot of people aren't going to agree with me, but I think Polaris is on the leading edge.......they are winning races with them, and they are really fast. Those 900 fusion sleds look awesome, have tons of power, and have great suspension....

As you can see in my profile, I am a Yamaha rider when it comes to wheelers, but when it comes down to sleds IMO you can't beat a Polaris. I started riding Yamaha then switched over to Polaris and I don't think I would ride anthing else. From my experience, 1995-present, they are very fast and very reliable. They also make a very nice mountain sled, I see that is what you are in the market for.

I know I am goin to kick myself by sayin this cause I hate their atvs but I think Polaris makes the best sled. They have been makin them for a long time so they got the R&R to prove it. Of course, this is comin from a guy who hasn't ridden that many sleds (2) and they were JOHN DEERES! We worked on them in our shop and I HAD TO TEST DRIVE THEM since we hardly get snowmobiles in. Atleast they had Kawasaki 440 motors in them!!! Those John Deeres haul *** hahahahaha! I love watchin the sled racin though! I think John Deere should get back into makin sleds and race them and kick some ***! Not really. Ok, I'll shut up now.

lets say i live in an area with no mountains, will they still be available around here, i want it for its large footprint and traction.
lol my buddy has a 78 or somthin, but its a 440 deere, its nice but his track is crappy, its got no traction, i like the engine, the cylynders are exposed with the 2 spark plugs
they were good, when did they stop making them?
good times!

They quit makin makin the JD sleds in the mid 80's i think. Until we got those JD sleds in, I DIDN"T KNOW THEY MADE THEM. This was like 3 or 4 yrs ago! When it comes to snowmobiles, im the kid sitting at the very back of the short bus with a drool cup and a helmet on. hahahha

I remember that John Deere made these models: Sportfire, Sprintfire, Liquifire, and Trailfire? The Liquifire was the one to have. Our 97 JD Lawntractor has the Kawasaki motor in it.

Yamaha has fallen behind in sleds. too few choises, and underpowered in there catagory's.
artic cat has a great 4 stroke sled that is pounding in its first and second years. its called a 660t.
i beleave that polaris is leading the way though. artic cats are good, but i allready regret buying my new pantera( artic cat) over the polaris.
polaris is offering so many choises, engines, and great suspencions. i dont know of a bad model through them. artic cat has had numerous recalls, and there fuil injection seems to always give me problems, lol. there so called smart valves are a real bad design, in my opinion.
good luck on your choise though.
