Is that a honda recon? or what?

 

Man its hard to tell in that pic, but I dont think its a Recon. I have never seen a gray/silver Recon, but that doesn't mean that its not one. It almost looks like it says Kawasaki on the tank, but I cant be sure. Even so it seems that the speeds have been exaggerated. I could see the patrol cars doing 70 to catch up after being evaded, but not steady speeds of 70. Could it be a Mojave or Bayou??

 

I think I see a chain guard, so it isn't shaft drive. And those bars are awful high. Huge tires, so it isn't any performance bike. Looks to me like maybe the lowly Suzuki 160, without racks.

Think the officers embelished the story a little???

 

Yeah it has a chain and it is for sure not a recon, it's no where near a sport bike like they said in the article, and im sure they ment 70kpm not mph. It's hard to see the kind of quad cuz everything is so dark, im not sure what kind it would be but not something new and not something that can go 70mph. They changed the story a lot.

 

I saw the chain too, but with those utility tires, my first thought was a recon. I dont think it was kmh,because it was in bama. Most likely, its like most newspaper stories...they threw in any old picture, not necessarily the one used.
I still cant figure out which quad it is, its probably one of the newer chinese models.

 

I think the picyure they used wasn't of the atv that ran. I take it this was in the U.S so they wouldn't use metric speed so 70+ mph was probably correct but it was probably something more like a raptor, banshee or some other sport quad. Deffently not the one in the picture.
