go-carts

i started my kids on carts. bought a 2 up cart, with a 5 hp briggs. added bigger tires, and it came with a live axle. went offroading with it for a few years, and my boys loved it. would mud ausome for what it was. stepped up to a 2 up 12 hp electric start, with lights, seat belts, and atv size tires. would do 40ish, and loved the trails. also great in mud. these are the BEST INVESTMENTS i have ever made. time with the kids, and teaching them repair, maintance. they learned, and the carts could not be totaled!!! went through a few dozen front spindles, but they are only 12 bucks each. went through a few dozen tires, and would just replace as needed.
i say get one. less maintance, lots of fun, and neverending memories.
by the way... at every get together i had, i would put them outside, with the keys in them. everyone would slowly look at them( from 10 to 63years old!!!) and before the end of the night, they would start. you aint laughed until you seen a 50 year old woman climb into one and peel out, lmao!!! brought the kid out in them all.

2 up live axle 5HP Briggs was my first ride. Re-storing the 80 model go cart now for my little girl to have in a few years.
My dad governed it down and slowly increase the speed as I learned.
Rebuilt my first engine by 1st grade (the Brigss that was on the cart) of course my dad help but let me do most of the work wrench turning. He broke most of the bolts loose and tourqed them back down, I was a runt in 1st grade.
Great investment and learner. Leter he upgraded me to a Suzuki 50 mini bike then 80 then 110 ATC then 125 bike, then 250 ATC, then 350 Quad.
I am still a firm believer in starting them young and letting your child grow into the bigger machines.

Both my kids started on the kart I am selling. I would not have had it any other way. They learned so much on and had a very stable and safe platform. They learned about power, momentum, braking, throttle control, and steering. I'm sure they learned even more than that, but those things for sure.

That Razor is a little over priced! I bought my sons new off ebay last year for $1900. It was the same cart with the 150cc engine. My cousin still races shifter carts and I climb my old butt in one every now and then. He runs the 125cc and has a 250cc yamaha powered, that sucker will fly like a bat out of ####! The fastest I've been it was 90mph but he says it will run 130 to 140 with the right gearing.

my uncle made his. 17.5 HP... god does that thing haul a$$... both rear wheels spin, not one of those 1wd... well if you give it full throttle from a dead stop on road itll either wheelie or smoke em... never hit top speed. has no suspenson, so its kinda squirly at 50+. nice thing is it sits real low, so on pavement, just turn itll slide sideways down the road instead of rolling.
