Im not a big gamer but i think it looks pretty cool, does it still take cd's?????

 

thats a good opinion but in the end it is somewhat sad knowing that 99% of the ppl who buy a Xbox only buy it for one game, Halo, when alot of ppl invest in PS2's because theres a bigger varity of games

 

ok here I have to help you out again....

PS3 is backwards compatable. Xbox 360 will be able to play all of your favorites from xbox....as the rep from microsoft said at E3...so some games me be, and others may not be....choice of words makes it hard to determine if it is or not.

Technically neither system will use "cd's" but instead the xbox360 will be using HD-DVD's and and the PS3 will be using what is called a blu-ray disc, which is another reason why I am not sure I will like the PS3 because this is BRAND NEW technology and it will cost alot more to manufactor.

Halo is a great game yes, BUT the XBOX has better hardware, the only reason why people buy the ps3 is because of its wider variety of games. With the xbox 360 coming out, so are other game producers....Such as the makers of final fantasy...they wil lbe relasing FFVI onto the 360. And GTA is not going to be a PS3 exclusive.

Xbox360(which is a lame name btw) is going to have large game library by the time the ps3 comes out....

and then there is revolutions.....nintendo...yuck.....

 

I personally don't have the Halo game. Don't see myself buying it later. Great game, just not what I want. The manufacturers (Sony, Microsoft) are starting to figure out if they make the game for their system only, they'll sell more. You'll still always have the game makers who make them for all systems, but there are some games (GT4) for Sony only. Only time will tell who has the best system, even then, there will always be a disagreement on that.

 

with me having access to all three current gen counsles out, I would have to say that I like xbox the best....so I am going to continue on with the xbox line [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]


and i think that the xbox with the 3 3 gig proccessors, each being able to handle 2 threads of data at a time....will in the end beat the cell which is only good at handling floating points...well that is what it excels at...which isnt really what gaming is about

According to a story on C|Net, Julian Eggebrecht, president of Factor 5, has confirmed that the company will no longer support the Xbox 360 and instead it will create games exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The following paragraph is an extract from the article:

The choice boiled down to performance, Eggebrecht said at E3 in Los Angeles. His company has worked with Microsoft's Xbox 360, but found PlayStation 3's 3.2GHz Cell chip offered more processing power. The additional performance allows the gang at Factor 5 to more easily simulate the real world for a better game experience, he said.

so basicly the PS3 is more powerful and will have better graphics. i too have all 3 and Playstation is a way better system. the only thing Xbox is good for is Halo, the only thing Gamecube is good for is Resident Evil, why'll PS2 has unlimited games...

ok...one persons opinion...i have all three also, and I personally like xbox better...the graphics are better, it loads faster, and it has a hard drive built in...

now as far as next gen goes, the cell processor will be able to calculate floatingpoints faster, that is about it....which doesnt give it any image performance boosts....And also the xbox 360 will be using hddvd discs instead of the blu-ray that sony will be using which is BRAND new technology which, as we know in the quad world, is touch and go at first
