Is anybody on the forum using the Scott dampener? if so, what is your opinion of it vizaviz the other brands and what type riding do you do. Are all the adjustments really useful or just bells & whistles? I'm currently using a PEP and quite happy with the unit's ability in reducing head shake, etc.
I'd like to get other's opinion of the Scott and the value of the big difference in cost.

Aren't Scott dampeners for motorcycles only? I think they work via the forks.

Blaster368 while Scott does make a dampener for bikes, they also make several models for atv's, including the Blaster & Warrior which I ride. The control unit mounts on the bars and has many options for adjustment. It is said to completely eliminate swap in fast big whoops and bumps & reduce arm pump greatly. It's effect is transmitted thru the bars like any other dampener such as the PEP, which I have now. DW magazine did a test in the Feb 99 issue using a Banshee which is not known for their controlability in fast deep whoops, and they claim it made a night & day difference, purposely hitting killer holes & bumps with almost no shock to the bars.
However, at $399 list price, I'd want to hear from someone else before investing that kind of money. I've got a pair of CTRacing's TCS shocks ordered and since their tests were with stock Banshee boingers, with after market shocks the addition of this dampener should make a huge improvement in fast cross country travel.

Hey, let me know how those TCS shocks work, 'cause I'm seriously thinking about getting a set. I'm still undecided because I know for sure that PEP makes good shocks, but man do I love that 240 motor CT made for me. Sorry, I've just never heard of the Scott's Damper for quads, I do know that they are the absolute best for dirt bikes.

Blaster668, I still am waiting for my TCS shocks. They said it would be two weeks or a little less, but it's been three weeks yesterday. I emailed CT Racing & they are still waiting for the bodies from Works & said it would be a few more days. I tried to open the box on your profile and also the email box in order to tell you all this direct,but neither box would open. you can make your own steering damper,most aftermarket steering dampers are vw steering dampers.i have made all my dampers using a vw damper and made my own brackets. i have installed them on a lt250r, warrior. and now a polaris 400 ext. they sure save your wrists.
