does anyone know how to rip dvds to a computer. i cant figure it out. im not trying to put anything out on the web like kazzaa. just FYI.

 

umm why would u want to? just grab the DVD, put it in and watch it..problem solved..plus it doesnt take up any memory space.

Ripping a DVD to your computer will not take up any memory on your computer.

It will however talke several GB of hard disk space.

I have used a program but I do not remember the name and I am blocked from the site here at work. Do a google for Fosi and look at his web page and what he has there.

 

DVD Shrink and DVD Decryptor both free and use Nero to burn

Just make sure that you are only making back-up/archival copies of the DVDs in question. Not for distribution....cause that would be illegal.

In the previous poster saying it takes up memory, he was meaning HD (or other permanent storage means) and not RAM. Very few machines have the RAM capacity to hold a DVD which generally exceed 2GB per hour.

I do know people who have media servers that rip their DVDs, have DVR recorded tv and extensive MP3/OGG collections on terrabyte size storage systems.
