Sell Lt250r for a raptor?
#1
I was just thinking about how much money I would save on repairs if I had a four stroke. After my 1991 lt250r is done getting a $800 rebuild do you think I should sell it to get a raptor?
thanks
Here are the mods on my zuki:1991 Lt250r :
Ceet seat cover,DG alloy front bumper,DG alloy rear grabar,DG alloy nerf bars ,Emgo bars,Pro design kill switch,Maier plastic(Looks awsome I put lots of cool stickers on it),Uni air filter,Shockwears,Parking brake block off,RTC clutch lever,Motion pro twist throttle(took a while to get used to!),Leager A arms ,Ohlins front shocks(got them with the quad the look kinda old),Homemade motor skid(from speed limit sign),Turf tammers on back,IPT hole shot up front,And probly other stuff to but I cant think of all of them rite now. I'd say keep your bike, the Raptor is not all that. Besides, you may not have to repair the Raptor as often (yet), but you still have a payment every month for a $6000 bike. Trust me when I say this, my 86 LT250R was the worst bike I have ever owned, till I decided to do it right. I rebuilt the engine totally, stripped cleaned and painted everything and I wouldn't sell it for anything out there now. For the price of the quads out there now, you can't beat an older model, fix it right and it will be as reliable as a brand new quad. Maintenance is expected on anything such as this, even a new one has to be kept in top notch condition to keep it running good. I'm not just saying this cause I own the bike either, I'd say it about any quad that people may own. My brother bought his 87 Banshee this February for $1000, another $1500 into it, and you can't tell the difference between his and a 2000 model, except for the little blue bottle in front...hehehe. Later and uh....save your money!
