I was riding at Black River Falls, WI this last weekend with my friends and family. It was a beautiful weekend. Not a cloud in the sky. What a way to end the atv season. My brother and I waited up one time and let the group that we were riding with get ahead of us a bit so that we could get the carbon out of our machines. So we were sitting here on the side of the trail, letting some time pass. Along comes a group of ten or so riders on their quads. They see us and stop. Break out the cooler. All start cracking beers and then offer us each one. I like to enjoy a beer as much as the next guy, maybe even more sometimes. But there is no room for drinking and driving atv's. We both declined the offer and got ready to move. Just as I fire up my EX, I look over and see these bozo's tosing their cans out in the woods. What stupidity!!! There is no quicker way to get the trails shut down than to let a bunch of morons drink and drive and worst of all litter. This shows no respect for the land and too others.
I asked the guy if he planned on picking up the cans, and he asked me if I wanted them? When I said no, he said," then why the hell would I want them?"
What a jerk.
If this is you. Trashing the trails with your garbage. Knock it off. I don't care if you don't care. But don't wreck it for the rest of us!!!!!!!

Oh ya, I almost forgot. As we were loading up the machines and getting ready to go. An ambulance pulled into the parking lot. We asked the paramedic what was going on. She said that two atv's had hit head on out on the trail and one guy had a broken collar bone the other a leg. Alcohol was a factor.
If these retards were responsible for that. They should never be allowed near a quad again.

I personally dont drink and drive, neither the quad or vehicles.I ride with some guys that enjoy a brew every once in a while and they take the cooler with them. These people are very responsable drinkers though. Not once have I seen them drink more than 1 can of beer per hour.We will stop on the trail and have a snack or something to eat and they allways pick up after themselves.I like to drink beer myself on occassions, but with the new laws into effect and SO many people getting hurt and busted for DUI,it simple is not worth the chance. So if I drink,I dont drive,PERIOD.Some people do abuse the stuff. Those people should not be on the trails or road.DONT DRINK AND DRIVE-BILL

It is hard enough to find a good place to ride in Texas. People like that aren't helping matters any.

Yall are right, people like this are making it hard to find places to ride. If youre drunk,PARK IT! Trash cans are there for a reason, use them. A little common sense and respect goes a long way.

I agree with you all. If you carried it in you can just as easily carry it out.

I don't know if you all have read my postings under "Where to Ride" "Trespassing". But littering is another reason I don't like having people on my private property....can you blame me???

Sorry if I seemed alittle ticked off. But I live in the city, and the trails are the only place that I have to ride. I take great pride in owning my quad, and it's not like I had the money laying around, so what the hell. I worked hard so I could get a new machine. It's one of my few toys, and if I loose my area's to ride. I loose the ability to play with my toy.
So those of you that take the trails for granted. Please don't. Because some environmentalist's dream will be granted.

Obviously those scumbags had never heard of "Tread Lightly!" Most of us wish they had.
