I didn't see "Hamburger Hill" mentioned. Pretty good Vietnam movie, but not my favorite. "Bat 21" is a good one, also with a Vietman plot. If you're not familiar with that one, it's based on a true story where Gene Hackman plays an Air Force Coronol that gets shot down. Danny Glover is a FAC pilot that talks him through the rescue. Bat 21

In no particular order, if you're keeping score, Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, and Apocalypse Now are tops in my book.

Band of Brothers. Buy the set of DVDs. Its an amazing story about one division who was at the forefront of WWII and who fought their way across Europe. They captured Hitler's Eagles Nest and were one of the first divisions to find the cocentration camps. I found it to be a very powerful movie and its by far my favorite war movie. The DVD features interviews with a few of the actual soldiers who talk about their experience. If you haven't seen it, its truly worth picking up.

Some good ones listed there, one of my favorites is Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood.

"Highway, I'm watching you! I don't give serviceman's discounts!"

"Too bad, your old lady does."

The most over looked war was one of the most brutal. The American CIVAL WAR. back in 1991 thier was a big history channel series about he Cival War, It was nothing short of amazing. Their were more men killed in one battle " battle of Gettesburg"(sp) than in the whole Veitnam War. The Battles, the amazing Stories!!!!!

Then their was WWII. Their are many great movies about this war. " Dirty Dozen", "Battle of the Bulge", "Tora Tora Tora", "Band of brothers" , " saving private ryan", Shindlers LIST!!" documentaries on the History channel, footage of the Bombers flying over Germany, Footage of the actual D-Day(Normandy), now that is also the best and most interesting for me.

Veitnam War---- Platoon, We were soldiers, etc....

Makes you wonder what movies will be like over the ' War in Iraq' ?

Bigger.
