12-12-05, Rest In Peace Dad

On 12/12 my Dad lost control of his truck and struck a tree. They think he had a heart attack before he lost control, that being the reason for losing control. I suspect the same thing as my Father was an exceptional driver. I don't recall him ever getting into an accident in my lifetime, except one when a lady ran into him. I was with him on many occasions when he avoided accidents that would have occured from other driver's negligence.
My Dad was only 55 years old (55years, 11 months, and 11 days.). Born on 1/1/50 and died on 12/12/05. He was driving his most prized possesion. An 05 F-350 Lariet quad cab fx4 dually pick up truck. It was the first and only brand new vehicle he had ever owned. He bought that truck and a home in Georgia after re-financing his house in NH. He was so proud of that truck and that house. I regrettfully never saw the home in GA while he was alive, but planned on going down with him this summer.
He was a very wise man. When people found out who my Father was, they would always praise him telling me how smart he was and how he had helped them with this or that. I guess he often bragged about his children, because many would tell me how proud he was of what his kids had accomplished and his roll in it.
He was also a very self-less man. He put his children before himself. Growing up, we never had much money but my Dad would sell his own things and max out his credit cards to make sure we had things for Christmas and birthdays. My Dad was a guy that was constantly getting phone calls anytime of day from someone who needed their heat fixed, or even ran out of gas. Even though we didn't have much money, those he helped who were less fortunate never got charged. Those more fortunate only got charged for the material he used and not his time or even gas money.
I will never understand why my Dad had to go at such a young age, but I will always know right where he is. He is in Heaven looking down on his Wife, 4 children, 3 grandchildren (+1 on the way) making sure we will all be OK.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. But at least he is in a place where he won't have any worries no more and can look after you and your loved ones. You will be in my prayers and god bless.

Sparky8370- words cannot express how sorry I am for you. I can only hope and pray for you and your family to have the faith, strength, love, and understanding to make it through the toughest of times.

Sorry to hear that Sparky . Take comfort in the fact that your father was a good man and was appreciated by many . Try to carry on that legacy and be the good man that your father raised . It is hard when you lose someone you are close to and try to understand that he was here to do a job and now his job here is done . My thoughts are with you and your family during this trying time .

Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear that. My friend is only 14 and has already lost both his parents, both to long battles with cancer. The most recent being last month when his mother passed in her sleep after her second battle with cancer.
Just stay strong, bro. Your family is in my prayers.
