I feel ashamed of the election results in my state of Michigan. I voted the straight Republican ticket but unfortunately Gore won the state. It also looks like we lost our current pro-ATV senator(Spence Abraham) and instead got a liberal million-mom-march democrat (Debbie Stabenaw).

They say that the union vote swung the Michigan presidential decision in Gore's favor. I can't believe how blind those auto unions can be. Don't they realize that Gore is zealously anti-automotive?! If Gore could have his way, thousands of those auto workers could be out of a job!

You raise a cruel irony, TrailMix! The Union bosses, in the pocket of Al Gore and the Democrat Party bigwigs (the Clintonites), persuade the rank-and-file membership to drink Jim Jones' Kool-Aid! Gore's trade and environmental policies are toxic to the auto industry and threaten the auto workers' jobs; however, the workers must obey their "leaders."

After all, Al Gore's mother crooned, "Look For, The Union Label," as a lullaby to him in his crib (although the song was written when Al was 27 years old).

Don't know where the crib was located, exactly; in 1988, Gore said he had been a hands-on tobacco farmer all his life; guess he had a window box planted in tobacco at his suite at the Fairfax Hotel on Massachussets Avenue in Washington, D.C., where he lived from the time he was born (in Washington, D.C.) until he went to college . . .

TrailMix:
I too am ashamed of my home state of Washington. Not only did Gore take it, we also lost our greatest hope for 2nd amendment rights, as well as atv's and land restraints. With Locke and C_ntwell in office, we're really in for trouble.

Guess we'll just have to wait it out and hope for the best, make the best of what we've got already.

Being a native of Michigan I was also shocked by the results of the general election. However... don't blame the outcome on the labor unions.

On one of the snowmobile threads I read, said Gore had carried the majority of metropolitan areas throughout the nation.

It appears that the sportsmen of the state were outnumbered by the urbanites on the dole. By and large those voters do not hunt or participate in outdoor recreation.

The same voter demographics were also present in Minnesota. There are not enough atver's, snowmobilers and hunters to outnumber the huddled masses in the metro areas.

Certainly, urban areas favor Gore. However, the Michigan unions did their part, taking the ENTIRE DAY OFF FROM WORK, closing the factories, to "get out the vote," as the union bosses promised the Gore campaign.

Each rank-and-file worker lost a day's wages, I guess, unless the Union made it up to them, or they extorted the money from the automakers, maybe in their labor contract. Guess who finally pays for this "holiday?"

A bearable increase in the price of your next US automobile, if we get an honest vote count in Florida, and Bush is sworn in as President in January.

Who lives in every major city in US?? Chicago, New York, LA....? negrs. Blacks live in suburbs and vote often republican,so what do you expect?90% black voters voted for GORE, so 60% high school drop-outs.
Most people in Yhe US obviously prefer full stomach and overtime/taxed severly/. A freedom does not mean much. People here take it/freedom/ for granted,it will be rude awakening for this country one day.....
Michigan union workers?, brainless herd.
By the way,all liberal socialist TV station/ABC,CBS,and the National Bolshevic Company also called NBC, declared Gore a winner in Florida and a next president at 6.30p.m. CT.Most people on the west coast did not vote at that time yet.....................???????????!!!!!!!!!
My son did not want to go to vote either, he said forget that, done deal, and we live in Chicago!
I do not understand WHY people do not see what is going on on TV,it is soooooo clear! Are we so stupid or what!

Colt, It's still going on tv. The democrat press announced Gore as the winner. Now they are saying that the Bush lead in Florida has been reduced to around 300. This is THEIR numbers. The official numbers for the recount still hang out at around 1,700.

I hate to sound prejudice, but you're so right about blacks tending to vote democrat. I work with a lot of blacks and had to correct them on several things regarding this election. One stated the Palm Beach county ballot was "rigged" until I showed them a picture of the actual ballot. Another one said it was due to Jeb being governor and that's why there is being a recount after the press declared Gore the winner. I had to further point out Florida law regarding a recount when there is less than a 1/2% difference.

FKNA,the whole election joke is absolutely pathetic as far as a hope for the future is concern.I do not even want to talk about, sad, very sad. Very briefly, you do not want to sound prejudice.Who created this kind of enviroment, where people are affraid of expressing their opinions and beliefs. We are jailed for spanking our kids. It is,very often, creating no respect. Teachers,..terrible education.Constant brainwashing from media, imposing their views. It is easy to manipulate uneducated people./some really believe ,that president runs the economy/.
I could go on and on, but I gotta go now.
It will continue.........
