i found out where my stolen atv is the problem is the cops wouldnt let me report it stolen because i only have the origional registration from when i first baught the atv and the registration is signed over to me. now i know where my quad is the thing is i cant call the cops or they wont give it back to me because i dont have a bill of sale or anything.
should i write up my own bill of sale with the guys name on it and stuff or do i try and get the atv back myself and if so how?
thanks

The best advice I could give you is to consult an attorney (small, sometimes no fee) before you did that. Falsifying a document could land you in more trouble than them.
But, I'd do it while I still know where the quad is. They could say they "sold" it, and then you'd have to prove (probably in court) that they had it originally.

Seems to me that if you have the registration signed over to you and the key for it, they would ask the people with it now for a registration signed over to them or a bill of sale from you or someone you sold it to. ( I know you didn't sell it). just my .02¢
