replacement Superwinch rocker switch???

I called the store that I bought the winch from (GI Joes) and gave them that part # (2200) they had no record of anything with that part # so the guy called up superwinch. They also had no idea what I was taking about. They had a kit to change winches (like the Z-1 over from the **** on the winch) over to the rocker switch but it was the same one that comes with the winch.... but the good news is, when He explained that mine had died and that I did not want to pay $45 for the same switch that went bad, they said that they are going to replace mine for FREE
so the clerk pulled one out of a new winch box and gave me it and said that the one they send him he'll just put in the box. (man is it my lucky day or what!) hopefully this one lives longer than the last one. Last time I did not put anything in the back of the rocker housing, this time I will

CORRECTION: The proper part number for the SuperWinch Rocker Switch Retrofit Kit is: 2233.
T.F.
All's well that ends! I'm glad you're the beneficiary of outstanding customer service from SuperWinch.
Parts man I'm not; I got the number (2200) off the box containing the "Retrofit Rocker Switch Kit" I received from SuperWinch.
Regardless, having the correct part is more important than having the correct number. Or something.

I would have to agree 110%. It really surprised me when they said that they would replace it for FREE!! IF that isn't great customer support I don't know what is
do you think WARN would have done the same? anyways thank you for your help
I was thinking about filling the back up with silicon to better seal those connections, is there anything else I could do to help prevent the same from happening again? is there a way to make your own "dust cover" for the front?
Agian any help is appreciated

I got tired of the rocker switch working when it felt like it. I replaced it with a marine-type rubber three-way toggle. Siliconed the connectors, and haven't had a bit of problems from dust, mud, or water. It's great knowing it will work when you NEED it to.

No big secret, super winch has problems with SOME of their rocker switchs, personally I prefer their rotary switch, and yes Warn will stand behind their products no questions asked!!! or at least they did for me!!!

Amen, Harold, Warn warrants their products responsibly (as does
SuperWinch) in my experience. The freespool clutch crapped out on a
little Warn I had on my Isuzu P'up; I took the winch back to the dealer;
in a week or so it had gyroscoped to Warn and back, repaired, with the cable
spooled far neater than I ever could!
Regarding the rotary switch, my 1978 model SuperWinch ATV1500 operates
with its rotary switch, now handlebar-mounted with the aid of a couple
of sheet-metal screws (formerly under-dash mounted on my 1978
Subaru). Still works great (gets a little warm at full pull!).
The retrofit rocker switch from SuperWinch looks good; their techrep
says, no call-backs--the only problems have been non-SuperWinch owners using
this switch, overloading its current capacity!

WARN IS A GREAT WINCH. UNLESS YOU WANT TO PULL YOUR QUAD AND A 350lb. HOG OUT THE BOTTOM OF A CREEK BED. ANY TIME YOU HAVE PLASTIC AND METAL INTERGRATED SUCH AS WARN YOU'VE GOT A PROBLEM. AS FAR AS A GOOD WINCH,IF MONEY IS NO OBJECT,RULE IS THE BEST. SUPERWINCH IS NOT FAR BEHIND, AND IS A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER. WHEN YOU PUT THE WARN IN A BIND IT WILL BACK ITSELF OFF, WHY YOU ASK, SO IT WONT STRIP OUT THE PLASTIC GEARING INSIDE. THE SUPERWINCH WILL HOLD ITSELF FOR 30SEC. OR MORE DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF PULL. I WILL AGREE THE ROCKERSWITCH SUCKS. BUT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CALL SUPERWINCH
AND THEY WILL SEND YOU ANOTHER FREE OF CHARGE. IF ALL YOUR GONNA DO IS PULL OTHER QUADS OUT OF THE MUDHOLE WARN WILL WORK AND PROBABLY LAST YOU FOREVER. BUT IF YOU HAVE HEAVYDUTY CHORES FOR YOUR WINCH, RULE OR SUPERWINCH IS YOUR BEST BET.
