Does anyone video your rides???
Just thinking I'd like to, I've looked around and found several "helmet" cams but they all are sold seperate from the recording device, and... well...are in the $1000 range when all is said and done.
Just wondering what you guys use and how it works (bouncing around) while taping.

I just strapped my video camera to the front rack and off I went. Wouldn't ya know it though, I was pullin' some doughnuts and tipped the Eiger and got it all on tape. LOL Man, you can hear me swearing and all, it's kinda funny. Ended up six feet away from my quad in that stupid little shale that gets in your skin. Man, I had bruises for a month. The guys come over and we watch that ever once in a while, they love it. ROFLBO
(I try not to swear much, but that freakin' hurts!!)

Thanks for the posts guys, Unfortunely I don't have racks, so that option is out unless I come up with a mount of some kind. Then I'm leary of water/mud contact and damaging the camara.
How did the "Image Stablizer" function work on your ride?
1000 dollars me and my friend looked the other day just for the fun of it and there were some off ebay for only like 350 i havent ever videoed a ride but we did take some pics of our last one
I've found a camera that fits the bill Samsung sc-x210l.
But the review says it all, poor picture. So why would you buy it and have a bad video that you can't see????
Anyway thanks to all for the replys.

The $1000 range came from adding the 200-400 for the helmet cam and the 500-1000 for the digital recorder.

I bought a helmet cam for around 250 bucks or so last year. Really works well. You plug it into your digital handicam which you carry in a fanny pack. It is very smooth, as your body and spine act as the shock absorbers, the picture is a steady as your head is. After using it some you learn to move your head slowly so you don't get those fast "sweeps" that make you dizzy when watching, and to keep your head level to the earth on hills so you maintain perspective. And also to look around with your eyes rather than moving your head back and forth so much.
You can really get some cool videos with the helmet cam. Mine also came with a headband strap, so I can wear the camera without the helmet. I'd like to video some bowhunting or birdhunting that way too.
