Default Building a Track

What would be the best way to build an off road track. Doesnt have to be best of the best, but at least some what nice. When I was younger we had this little yamaha 60 zinger and my dad spay painted a trail to follow. After following that paint trail about 30 times it wore in and made a half decent track. I might do that again just to get it down to the dirt, but this time Id like some sort of guard rail sorta thing. Maybe hay bales or something? Any one have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Me and my dad built a track with my quad, was pretty hard at first, we used my quad of course, hoes, and some other tools. So I got riding on that for awhile and now its pure dirt in most spots.

I know it will be pretty flat, but thats what I want. I want to be able to make the layout nice enough to have some fun on, but yet at the same time I want younger kids to be able to ride go-karts on it as well. So im not looking to have a bunch of jumps.

Yes we do have a tractor. 2 actually.

I think I am going to just "ride it in". It did not take long last time I did that when I was younger. But does anyone else have any suggestions on what to use for the bounderies if any at all? Or if you know of a better way to make the track it self without "riding it in"?

Ummm, you COULD use the boundaries like what the pros use... but those HAVE to be exspensive. You know, the ones at the supercross race... a better way to do that though is to use old tires cut in half. And using the tractor would be a great way to get the outline of the track... after that, then you can "ride in" the grassy spots. IMO

Tires would work but then Id need a lot of them. I might be able to use the tractor on the stright sections being that those take longer to wear in. I use to race RC cars and when I build tracks for them I used black coagulated pipe. Thats what most pro tracks used. I may just use that unless if someone has a better idea.

I am going away on vaction now for a week, so if I dont respond to any posts thats why. Ill check back when I get back home.

Thanks
