Look at the Sony S2 Network Walkman. It's compact, has an adjustable arm strap and holds a good amount of music. The earphones fit under the helmet too. I use it while out on long rides on the quad and on my mountain bike.

Sorry man I thought you meant something for personal use.
My son has a Dewalt stereo/CD player that he takes camping with us and it has taken a serious beating strapped to the front cargo rack on his friends quad. Other than that I may not be much help.

Did you check out Lowe's or Home Depot? I've seen construction-site type stereos there before, they look like a toolbox with speakers on the front. I'd check those two places and also try Sears, those will probably be your best bets. Hope this helps.

you could probly get some marine speakers and a mp3 player for around 100$$, build a cheap fiber glass box and presto! got to have some tunes.

I was at cabelas this past week, and they had a utility radio/cd player. It was cheap($60 or $70) and looked like it would be pretty darn durable.
