I hate to sound like a teacher, but I tell you what some of the posts on here are horrible. I know people get in a hurry typing and I am one of them that does make mistakes sometimes, I hit an extra key or move a letter to a different word. But I think somepeople have been texting too much with their cell phone or are just fricking lazy as he!!. But somethings like the following are rediculous(sp?)

soar = as in sore(hurt)
ur = your
mi = me?

everyother word misspelled, come on people please just reread your post before posting so that other people dont have to decypher you words so that they can actually understand it.

ok Im dont ranting and raving now.
Hope you are all having fun on the quads, wish I was at home right now riding mine.

And the scary part? Most of the ones that do this are the future of this country.

Exactly my point.

I learned how to type in school, I know I learned how to spell (for the most part, there are always some words that I misspell or cannot think of at times). But I mean seriously do they even teach spelling in school anymore.

I mean I went to that there school in Arkansas but I still knnowed how to spell them there word type things(sounding like a hick)

I frequently see this one: BREAK instead of BRAKE

If you can't even master grade school english, I can't see how anybody has a real bright future........

Well, NO - they don't teach anything real in The People's School systerm any more.

Another one I see too much: sore-vs-soar.
"I stubbed my toe and it was soar."

The occasional typo, omission of punctuation, or commom-misspelled word is easily overlooked. What we're talking about is somethign way beyond that. Many obviously do not try, and do not care.

His "whatever" shows that he just doesn't really care......

So many misspelled words really bug me too. Like was mentioned, I think a lot of it is being down by kids who text all the time and have made up abreviations. I believe ur= you are, just my thought. I may be wrong.
The one that gets me every time is the use of "your", when it should be "you're". "I bet your going to have fun at the dunes."
We may be seeing the english language changing, just like it has over the centuries. The term Goodbye used to be God be with you, many, many years ago (17th century). Words and phrases have always been evolving, that is why we Americans talk so different from the English.
But if you try to correct one of the posters about their bad english and spelling, they get real defensive and don't care. Just like recon said.
That's my 2 cents (sense) worth!

Oh now here's a thread for me. For some reason I type better online than for things at work.

What really bugs me for some reason:

      Not sure why but they really get me. Mainly because the rules are easy to use. It seems like any forum people get tweaked if you make comments about their spelling. I use to hang out on Slashdot.org (geek, nerd, computer, technology web site.) You think it's bad here? Nope. At least here it's usually the kids who can't spell. For the most part they are adults there.

      Have to laugh at the errors by the OP (original poster.)

      Most browsers have spell check. Firefox will put a red dotted line line under words it doesn't know. Not sure how IE marks words.
