I was wondering if anyone has ever been pulled over while riding on the road during the winter when the road is covered in snow? Do cops really care if you do? Whats the penality IF(lol) you get caught? I live in New jersey and i rode on the road during a snow storm and a cop just honked. we didnt know it was a cop at the time cause he was driving in a Jeep.

Well I am not sure what the laws are, but I didnt get pulled over. I live in SC and we dont get much snow around here, but last Feb. we got about 8 inches of snow in a freak act of nature and it was some aweosome riding. We were riding on the road, and we passed a cop pulled over at a store. I was really scared that he was going to come after us, but he didnt, thank goodness! We just kept going on and had an absolute blast, snow riding is the best. I just hate we dont get more snow where we live.

Ride on.......

They are pretty good in our area of New York also. We ride on the side of the road with out many hassles from the local Police. Of course this is a privilege and if you have people trying to race cars or get a bit reckless then that privilege will be taken away.

I live in N.Y. and if the cops want to break shoes here is what they'll give you. If your over 18 your get the following summonses:
Unlicensed (if you dont have a motorcycle lic.)
Unregistered (which it has to be in N.Y.)
Uninspected
Uninsured (which you must have if not on private property in N.Y.)

Under 18
same as all above but they can confiscate the bike or quad and your parents will be issued the summonses and also an extra one for allowing there kid to ride. That should make a parent proud.

Dec 13th we just got hammered in Michigan with 14 inches of overnight snow, there were snow emergencys posted, which means no vehicles on the road until the emergency is lifted. You could see all kinds of ATVs and snowmobiles out,the cops dont care as long as the weather is bad.Now try riding on the road in good weather? The boys in blue dont like that!
