I got (finally) got a truck. A '94 Ranger with the V6 4.0L.
I have a few questions though. What's the difference between the black D on white background, and the white D on black background (as other letters PRN21). They both stand for Drive...but what's the difference, is it a torque/ low range stuff?? I can't figure it out. I can't look in the owner's manual (I don't have it) and in the repair manual, they don't talk about it.
Is it also normal for the gearbox to be incredibly slow?? When going from 1st to 2nd...it seems like it takes 2 seconds or no power, just clutch and "rpm"...weird.
Also, when I start the engine when it's hot, it idles pretty bad (too low -600rpm-) and even stalled -once-. Would an air filter cleaning and spark plugs renewal change things?
I'm asking all this because if I "repair" this, I have to put the car in the garage, and put outside, the 2 sleds (*uckin heavy) and the quad...and it really $ucks to work on a slushy car.

Thanks.
PS: besides this, the car works great...still haven't had the opportunity to haul anything yet...
