Lawsuits and commercial advertising of drugs have made our healthcare system very expensive. We'll have to disagree. Much of the programs that you mentioned are on a local level. The Founding Fathers wanted government to be on a local level where we can decide more finitely where our money goes. I've actually held public office on a local level. It's pretty much the same as the federal government on a much smaller scale. My biggest point is we can't afford the kind of spending programs that get added on each year. Where's the money going to come from?

Now I like Obama and will make no secret of it but Mcain and Obama wanted to buy there way out of the reccession which just won't work.We Americans are very resourcefull people and can recover and maybe a little stimulus would help.I do agree all politians on both sides take away your rights in one way or another. If Obama screws up these first 2 years than we will see an influx of Republicans in the house and the senate. If he does well it will be stay the course.America's best days are ahead either under Obama,or not.

Amen, well said. There are lots of people standing up for Obama right now and that is their choice I guess. It is also our choice to not stand still for it and tell everyone we can the repercussions of electing a fascist/socialist government regardless of their party affiliation. Like you I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I am CONSERVATIVE and always have been. It amazes me the people that claim to be a Democrat and mention JFK as being a great president. By todays standards JFK isn't even close to being a Democrat. He was more conservative than what the Republican party is today. Our only hope is to do our best to educate people and hope that they will listen and stop electing people that believe Government is the answer to all of our prayers. Like Reagan said "Government is not the answer to the problem, Government IS the problem".

I feel extremely blessed to live in America. We grow up with the idea that a little hard work will get you somewhere and it'll take a little hard work to get this country back on it's feet.

I just can't see how anyone can believe that Spending more money will have a chance in hell of getting US the US out of debt. Does anyone in office know how to balance a checkbook? The Obama admin. didn't want to give the people a real stimulus, like a rebate on taxes already paid. they were worried that the people would pay bills or SAVE the money and they didn't want that! And if by some small miracle you do get a few more bucks on your paycheck, It won't last for long, just until they can start up a new tax such as a ENERGY or CARBON USE tax! Give with one hand and take away with the other!
It will keep getting worse until America wakes up!
It's up to US to make the changes. It starts with you and me!
And maybe this forum is a small part of that change!
Keep talking about it, maybe we will wake a few people up!

You always have to wonder if he knew the microphone was on when he said, "ladies and gentlemen, the bombing starts in 5 minutes". Yep, Hillary was over having discussions with China about their boats endangering our signal boats in international waters. I imagine she will apologize for having our boats there instead of sending in a destroyer if the Chinese keep hassling our ships. Pax Americana is the doctrine whereby, we, as the most powerful nation on the Earth, police the oceans of the Earth so that peaceable transit can continue. China is, in my mind, more powerful than Russia right now and the biggest threat for the future. Also, millions of our dollars have just been sent to the leadership in the Palestinian area. Hamas is supposed to use the money to rebuild after their people lobbed missiles into Israel and got the tar beat out of them for doing it. That sends a great message too. Back to domestic policy. They now want to control the healthcare industry. How many billions will that cost. I know it's not perfect but I've been saved from death 3 times in my life. I have friends in Canada where they wait for months to have needed surgeries. England's government controlled healthcare just decided that several life saving cancer treatments are too expensive and won't cover them. No thanks. Leave private industry alone. Every time government steps in to private sector industry it gets worse, not better. With very few exceptions. I can think of environmental laws that kept industries from dumping raw waste into rivers (Nixon), the Internet (military and universities), and the global positioning system (military). I could go on forever about the differences this present government will make to our nation but it honestly gets me depressed. 2 more years. 2 more years... 2 more years..... I feel better now.</end quote>

How much more damage can this admin. do in 2 years Moose? I don't feel any better. If this is progress, I don't want it!
