I was just wondering if anyone has used the R-A-M or Micro RAM mounting system? I was thinking of purchasing one. My home made mount works fine but looks like crap and isn't very adjustable.

robh, I have a Magellan 315 GPS it is currently mounted to my brake master cly. mounting bolts. I wish I had a center bar on my handlebars it would make mounting much easier.
The RAM system a rubber ball and socket design they claim it holds solid in any position. They were originaily designed for fishing graphs I think. RAM now makes model specific GPS mounts that are reasonably priced. Just curious if anyone has tried them, I hate to throw away money on junk.

I'm using a RAM mount for my III+. I really like it. Even without a center bar I was able to swivel it around and get it out of harms way. I even rolled it once and it came out unscathed. You can see a pic at:

Xplorman, Does it the mount vibrate much? Is it readable at trail speeds? By the way nice ride!

Thanks! It's rock steady on the trails. Perfectly readable even in the bumpy areas. I wish the screen was a little larger though.

Xplorman, thanx for the info. I'll be ordering one online from Cabela's real soon. I know what you mean about the screen size. Thanx again.

I used a SlipStreamer mount purchased from Dennis Kirk for under $30.
