Smile Carrying Fuel

I am in the process of getting a large truck box for my Honda Rincon 680. Normally I carry a 4.5 gallon fuel tank on the back of the quad but with the new trunk (that I ordered from Sportsman a month ago and have yet to see it) I don't want the fuel tank under the box as the box will be bolted on. So the question: If I strap the fuel pack to the front rack of the quad will that extra weight affect my steering???

Thanks for any and all help.
Cathy

Gas is about 8lbs per gallon, so even a 4 gallon flat pack is only about 32 lbs or so, not gonna really affect anything. At most, you may need to crank the shocks up a notch to make up for the fuel if you carry it all the time, but I dont think it will be a problem. Most front racks are made to carry 50-80 lbs anyway, so you should be fine.

If you keep 2/3 of your cargo weight on the rear and 1/3 of the weight on the front you'll be fine.
