Oil puddles while standing up!
#1
First post! Hope you guys can help me out.
I just got a 2000 Honda Foreman 400 4x4 with only 1200 miles on the thing, nice shape, and was installing a plow plate. The pic shows the quad upright, so I looked here, followed the advice I found. Shut off fuel, let run dry, plug vent in tank, and stood the thing on its butt. Pulled the factory skid off and was half way done with the cycle country plate when I noticed a puddle of oil. I dropped it down on all four before finding the spot the leak was coming from. I let it sit for awhile and checked the oil, seems fine. There was three puddles about 8" around by the time it stopped. I would think It could notice that much low? Wouldn't I? I had just changed oil (ams oil 0w40) last week. Is there some other oil I could be? It seemed to be coming from the back of the engine, near the recoil rope. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Check the air box if the crank case vent line runs to it. Could have been just accumulated oil dripping out the air box drain tube.Dirt Cheap Honda & Arctic Cat OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Outlet

Doesn't appear to be from the air cleaner. There is some dried oil residue, but I'm quite sure all that oil didnt come out of it. It looks to me like it came from between the rewind and the block.
Thanks for the "check this" though
