Default Good Tow Behind Cart

Any ideas for a nice tow-behind dump cart for yard work? Hauling rocks, firewood, dirt, that sort of thing?

Bush Buggy Trailer I have the smaller on of those carts. I've used it to haul generators, air compressors, nail guns, carpentry tools into the woods on trail projects and have used if for topsoil, firewood runs in VT toting heavy hardwood, and yard cleanups. Have never had a single issue with it. Very sturdy.

Avoid the lawn tractor carts from places like Walmart, Sears, etc. They don't stand up to abuse.

I bought mine at "tractor supply" but I did get the better quality model, they have a cheaper model and a good quality model, less than 250 bucks. I added a trailer coupler to the tongue to make the connect and disconnect much easier. I have hauler pretty much everything in it, dirt, stone, rocks, timbers and about anything else you can think of. Had it about 5 yrs with no issues, and I know it has been overloaded many times.

A friend of mine has a cheap lawn cart that's been rebuilt several times. He broke the tongue almost completely off hauling firewood and that wasn't the first time it broke. If you get a real cheap one you'll regret it.

Well my experience is that they overload the cart. Mine has a 400# wt limit that I do not go over so they last for years. My neighbor has a John Deere cart which costs 3 times what my cart cost and only lasted 2 years but...his has a 500 lb limit and I know he has had twice that on it many times, so the tongue and axle both are broke. Figure out what you need to haul and buy accordingly.

Yeah I had a lawn cart I pulled with my rider mower. So I tied on the quad and hauled some rocks up a trail. At some point, driving became pretty tough, so I just gave her more gas. When I finished the hill, I looked back and one of the tires had almost folded over on the axle and I was "plowing" with it!

I have seen the ones at the tractor store, one is plasticy with drop down sides and stuff...looks decent. I found a Bush Buggy one on CL, I am going to go look at it tomorrow.

Got to give carefull consideration as to what your going to do with it and how much your going to haul. Mine is primarily for yard work and taking out the trash so it works perfect at a reasonable cost. I don't exceed the weight limit and it is not designed for serious off road use. There are some awesome cart/trailers out there that can do most anything but they also come with an awesome price tag!!

Here's a 1/2 ton trailer for 800 bucks and free shipping to a trucking depot where you have to pick it up on a pallet. It's one of the better looking ones I've seen. They also have a double axle 1 ton trailer with a hoist but it costs a lot more. Versa Trailer: 1/2 Ton Commercial Grade Utility Trailer | DR Power Equipment
