How can a quad be made legal for use on public highways? I live in Florida...has anyone done this here? Another state? Any info would be helpful.

Thanks.

This topic has been discussed on so many places. The only real answer is maybe. You have to check local and state laws or have the right connections to people with authority. There are places that sell kits. The cheapest I've seen them for is $35. Don't waste your money on one of these kits until you check the laws.

Good Luck, you'll need it!!

In AZ it is pretty simple. There are rules such as, needs to have at least one head light that can be seen for such n such feet, tail light, at least one brake operated by foot. Most of the rules your machine fall into right off the showroom floor. The only two additional items you need will be a horn audiable for 200 feet and a rearview mirror (Side handle bar mounted). You also need to have your plate registered and carry insurance. I'm not going to do it because I'm not too interested in running it on the street although some of the criteria you also need for forest roads.
