I have tried various detergents with little luck. I have found that good old kerosene works about the best and will not harm the o rings. I have a small pan that I fill with kerosene and put under the machine. I jack the rear of the machine up and using a soft brush, I scrub the chain as I roll the chain forward. When the chain is clean, let it dry and relube. Looks like new.
