I like this much better than the last one that was tried. It will still take some learning, but I still like it.

One question. I want to be able to show the expanded threads. However, just for certain folders, not all at once, it takes too long to load. Will it be possible to have a button for each "main" folder, like "other topics" "where to ride" and so on. Thanks.

Adam,

No, not likely. However, if you visit the forums daily just go into your profile and set the default Age of messages to view to 1 or 2 days. That way, you're only seeing the most current messages and not seeing the stuff you saw a few days ago.

Also, if you disable the viewing (in your profile) of other member's ICQ status, the pages will load faster. If you choose to display their ICQ status, the forum software has to link to the ICQ site and if their site is slow then the forums slow down.

Personally, I really like the way this new forum was made.

Dave, is there a way to reset the lightbulbs (flashing post notes) while you are logged into the forums. In the old version, you could click on the checkered flag to reset the "last trip here time" and the bulbs would reset to the most recent posts. Do you have to completely leave and re-enter? I did notice that they changed once automatically while logged on around 2pm est. Why?

Steve,

Hmmmm. That would not be hard to add. It may be that they reset by themselves, but I just added caching to some of the queries (info retrieve from the database) in order to improve the performance of the forums. The info in Cache refreshes every 20 minutes and that may be creating a problem with the new message indicators.

I'll check into it when I have some time.

The only difficulty that I have seen with either this format or the previous is the lack of ability in quoting in responce. Can you offer any help in this area?
