I have read about it for years, but this year I am going to go. Need pointers from hands on Cochranton, PA poker run attendees.
What are the state laws, what to bring for the ride, what to watch-out for?
Four of us heading up the day before from Indianapolis, any info will be helpful.

ITS A BLAST!!!!! Don't forget helmets!! No Helmet-No Ride... I have ridden it the last three years. Lots of MUD. Bring xtra dry clothes too, Two years ago, got wet right away and froze the rest of the day. Taught me a quick lesson. But other than that, its great. Everybody is nice and outgoing and very friendly. See ya there maybe? Look for the Plate on my trailer....."LKN 4 MUD" HAVE FUN ROBB

Just a brief input from another out-of-stater; you MUST register in person; do so the day before the ride to avoid the lines.
Next, stay where overnight you can get to the staging area EARLY. You may want to carry something to eat and drink while you wait. Last year, my group arrived at the staging area at 7:00 a.m.; we crossed the starting line about 10:00 a.m.
The organization and administration is capable and efficient; however, 6,000 ATV's are 6,000 ATV's, and it takes awhile for all of 'em to pass the same points.
Being self-sufficient doesn't hurt, with tools, tow-strap, parts you might need; oil; gasoline, however, is conveniently available at refueling points operating with amazing efficiency and speed.
The experience is worthwhile, you'll be glad you came.

No problem there Mike, we have got some rooms reserved in Meadville. If I am cold, wet, muddy and waiting in line...the last thing I need is sleep depravation.

Nathen,
I hate to seem rude, but treefarmer is wrong. They only supply gas at the now one refueling point on the trip. It is half way through the 45 miles. There is no oil-mix available. So if you ride two-stroke, bring your own oil to mix with the gas they sell. Have fun and see ya there. Oh, if anyone wants to stop and say hello, we camp by the pond on the starting line. Look for the big red Chevy Crewcab, just stop in and say hello to us!

Nathen,
I hate to seem rude but Freddie is wrong! I just received my flyer for the 2000 poker run. It stated that there is a gas stop halfway thru each trail. There are four trails this year, so you add it up. The octane of the gas is 93. Price is yet to be determined, last year it was $2.00 a gallon. You must bring your own oil. You can bring your own gas, but it must be in an approved container (ie no milk jugs).
Good luck and enjoy yourself. I know I have.
