In Ohio you may retain a sticker for $8.25 from the local BMV. This allows you to operate you fourwheeler on side streets and back roads. Kept me out of trouble in the past I believe this sticker is good for 3 years. I was offered this sticker when I went to register my quad.

Rumor has it that Arctic Cat is coming out with a street legal quad in 2004. It will have turn signals and the chassis will be modified somehow. A friend of mine said he read it somewhere but I don't know where. I'll ask him. In KY it is legal to ride on roads that are not numbered (eg Rt. 8 or KY1936) but on country roads that are not numbered it is OK to ride. You can cross US, state or county highways at a 45 degree angle legally.

puerto rico, they are not 100% legal but cops don't care,so the govertment is trying to make them legal so they can get some money out of the riders(tabs).but honda and yamaha, told the goverment not to do that, cause atvs do not have good suspension and other things.but you go pretty much anywhere you want.

in some states they are legal to ride on the rodes and highways but you must stay under the speed limit. These states usually are big on agriculture so that is the reason. Also in parts of europe ATVs can be street legal if you put mirrors, blinkers, lights and other stuff on them. They have a picture in one of the dirt wheels with a street legal banshee from germany. They are so luck over there!

You can do it in *ANY* state if you do the homework. Just meet the requirements for a "homemade vehicle" and they HAVE to let you in. I did it here in NY. Go join yahoo group:

lots of pics and info...
