If you want a great moving map software package, try OziExplorer. This software is cheaper, and the author has always been extremely helpful with any problems. See the webpage;

I bought the garmin gps III + a few weeks ago and i love it. Foget the book, use it as a guide and just sit down and play with it. That seemed to work for me and i never even used on of theses before. I also got their topo soft ware with it and it seems to be a good program. But i do have a question for you guys that have one of these gps mounted to their quad. I use my quad for trail rides and we are in alot of mud. How does it seem to hold up to the abuse of trail rides? If you can email me direct since i dont check this form all to often, thnx alot

Snowshark, there are 2 plaes in sandy, one is toco bell and it always makes me sick (toxichell) and the other is tocotime next to dairy queen, it has been good everytime I have been there. But the only restraunt where the road splits is Tollgate, not exactly a toco place but is a great resturant. Robh, dont get the expensive GPS III covered in mud, use velcro that way you can snag it and put in in your pocket when in the nastys

I own two different GPS receivers, a Magellen 12 (I think, it is pretty old, the one Honda gave a way a few years ago)and a Magellen 315. The 315 is much easier to use and the accuracy is much better (12 channel versus 8 channel). I have found both to be very usefull, especially if you are in an area you have never been into but that you have a USGS topo map for. I have found that if you are using a GPS system with a topo map, set your receiver to display UTM instead of Lat/Lon; it is much faster and easier to locate your position on the map this way.

E-Trex is a great unit, but doesn't support live mapping.
