HAVE A 99 400EX, BORED TO A 426, 11 TO 1 COMPRESION,
ALL AROUND CAM, K/N, 6 AIR BOX VENTS, DYNO JET KIT, IDS-2 PIPE. LIVE IN OHIO, COLD WINTERS,
LOOKING FOR A ALL AROUND CARB FOR POWER DONT
NEED TOP END SPEED, NEED MORE BOTTOM POWER,
OR IS THE STOCK CARB JUST AS GOOD?

I live in ohio also where did you get the engine work done im looking to do alot of mod just dont know what to do yet....only thing i have done is FMF powercore pipe still stock jet need to rejet just dont know what one i need....also need to do the airbox.....so any info would be great

me and a buddy tok ours down to landcaster south
east of columbus. the place is called PRO FAB ATV
(740)654-0734.
$45 for boring
$150 piston kit 11 to 1 compresion
$169 for the cam
$375 for the 3 angle port job
$99 for the rev box
$150 if you take the hole motor to him, to tare it down and put it togethere.
$9.95 for 6 air box vents (or rockymontain atv
for $6.95)
total $988.00 plus tax (minus the air box vents)
i only have a half a tank run through it so far
he recamends a tank though it. then i will let
you know how it is so far it feels pepier .

try useing a 155 main jet you might be running
lean (this means to hot) do you have the k/n
filter on it.

i dont have the K $ N air filter on yet i have in on the way but when i get it on then i will jet

Lucis: you still haven't rejetted that EX? get with it man, it isn't good to run lean like that
by a 155 and 158 main jet, and a 40 pilot jet..you can get them at your honda dealer. take the float bowl off the bottom of the carb, it is held on by 4 screws. the mainjet is the one that hangs down the furthest, use a 1/4 socket to remove it, and put the 158 in. the pilot jet is off to the side, and up recessed a bit into the carb. remove it with a small regular screwdriver, and put the 40 pilot jet in. put it back together and ride it. if it seems blubbery on topend (rich mainjet) replace the mainjet with the 155. Get to it!
