I am trying to get my axle off my 300. I loosened the axle bolt and it slides back and forth but wont slide off. Has anyone who has taken the axle off had this problem? Any info would help.

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] Have you removed the lock ring from under the adjustment/lock nut. If not, screw the lock nut and the adjustment nut far enough in to expose the lock ring. You must pop the lock ring out of the groove, it is under the adjustment nut. If you have done this and removed the brake hub and the axle still won't slide out then it is stuck in the bearings. You will probably have to beat on the end of the axle to unstick it from the bearings. Be sure to use a piece of wood against the end of the axle when you are beating on it. Good luck.

 

Forgot to say that if you have the lock ring out and the axle nut won't slide off, then it is probably some trash in the spline. A couple of lite hammer taps and penetrating oil will help.
