If you do a search on Works suspension you'll find a lot of opinions on the shocks. It seems that most people who have the shocks are happy with them and those that don't say they're cheap and you should buy something else. Personally, I have Works dual rates on my quad and I'm very happy with them. They were a definitely improvement over stock and they were all that I could afford at the time. I plan on sending them back to Works to have reseviors added at a later time.

You will be able to tell an enormous difference with aftermarket shocks, any brand. The issue of Works vs. Axis, PEP, or Elka usually is a question of whether or not your race. If you don't race regularly, the Works are an excellent choice.

I had a set of triple rate w/ rezzie for 2 seasons. They are far and away...WAY better than stock. That was the best I could afford at that time. I now have Elkas, all they are just a little bit better...IMO.

If you get Works, you'll love the upgrade...guaranteed.

i have the works triple rate without reservoirs on my 686 raptor and they have taken quite a beating on the whooped out sand trails that i ride and they are still holding up just fine.you will notice a big difference over the stock shocks on your raptor and unless you are racing you would not benefit getting the works with reservoirs.my wife and i ride the dunes about 35 to 40 weekends out of the year so i put my works to the test and like i said they are holding up well.

i really like my works triple rates, when you land a jump you do not loose speed like you would from stock shocks.

I love my Works Triple rate w/res shocks. I only have them on the front. I have read on these forums that the rear chock on the Raptor is fairly good. For those of you who have changed the rear was there a big difference or not?

Thanks for any replies!

I had my rear shock rebuilt with Elka SSD components by the Quad Shop. Although it is much better than stock, the Raptor rear end will never behave as well as a better designed linkage. Even at the firmest rebound setting, the rear end still bucks like crazy as soon as I hit the whoops. I've tried softer and firmer with firmer being better but I still end up on my feet instead of on my rear when things get really rough. For $325, I am undecided on a rebuild vs. a better rear shock.
