Where does a motor shop's liability end?
Alky,
I am not sure what coused it to drop. I have an idea: I had a head gasket go out the trip before and part of the gasket got into the valve. I had my machinist replace the gasket, asn supposedly the valve. I think he did not replace the valve, and it was either bent just a touch or the seat was damaged. I think its his baby all the way, since like yours it dropped 5 mins after installation.
My situation is very similar to yours. Was this recently? How did they handle it for you?
I will go back to doing my own assembly.

I didn't try to get anyone to pay for it. I understand problems with warrantying performance parts and labor. It is hard to say what actually causes engines to fly apart sometimes. Lots of times, it is one thing that causes a chain reaction. Like I said, I feel that the RD springs I had didn't hold the tension and wore out too early. Now, this could be because of the springs, or it could be the seat pressure, lift, installed height, etc wasn't set at the optimum measures. It could also be the lobe angle of my cam was too steep and it drove the valve down too hard and caused the failure. This idea causes another problem. Did FTZ pick the springs to match the cam? Likely not. I think Powroll pick the springs to match their cam that is in my engine. So, is Powroll at fault for my engine going? I decided to put this engine on alky. It made it run MUCH cooler. Did the fact that the springs weren't at normal operating temperatures cause the failure? Once again, did I over rev it due to the Sparks racing CDI that has no limit?
See what I mean? There could be many reasons a high performance engine can come apart. My family owns a business that sells building materials including painted sheet metal. The metal carries a 30yr paint warranty. However, if the contractor that installs it isn't careful and scratches the metal, cuts it with a saw that can cause the metal to rust, etc, it voids the warranty. If we leave it out in the rain, it can cause the paint to peel. If the company that forms it isn't careful, they can damage it in shipping. They can also scratch it during forming. The company that paints it can also screw it up during the painting process, and the company that makes the paint may have a bad batch. Basically, here is 6 places your sheet metal can be damaged and it is very hard to say where the problem originated 3-4 years down the road if the metal starts to rust.
