What banshee mod next?
#1
I have a 95 banshee I have a set of t-5s, prodesign head with a 20cc dome, prodesign intake with boost bottle, and a prodesign proflow filter. It has a set of pro-lite pistons in it and the bike runs very good. I just ordered a set of v force reeds for it, but have not had a chance to put them on. I mostly ride dunes and very little trail riding from time to time. I wanted to know what you guys think I should do next? Should I change to a 2 into 1 carb set up or get a bigger set of duals on it? I know porting on the bike makes a huge change, but im not sure what port job to go with because I enjoy the power that I have now, and just want a little more. Should I wait for the next rebuild and throw a set of super stock pistons on it, or go and have it ported? If I went the ported rout what port style should I get? It is not a full out sand dragger so I don't really think a stage IV port job. I have pretty much all the bolt ons that you can get other then the timing degree plate. Do you guys think the change from t-5 pipes to a set of t-6s would be worth the money? Just want to know where I should go next?

keep the pipes you have they are a great setup in my own opinion. when it is time for a rebuild switch over to the vito's super stock pistons for sure on your next rebuild. if i were you right now i would switch over to the trinity 35mm dual carb kit and do trinitys stage 3 porting. with this setup you could be fairly competetive in the dunes, but still be reliable and trailable. a few other small bolt ons to consider would be a dyna ignition box as well. also what kind of fuel are you running now? timing advance plates are great to run race fuel on occasion. good luck, any other questions i would be happy to answer.

Right now I run 110 in my bike most of the time sometimesi put 114 in it and rejet and all of that good stuff and change plugs but it doesn't seem to make a huge change on the bike. My brother has a 92 banshee and he has stage II Porting from trinity and the single carb set up and his runs nice, but the porting from them was a lot of money I think. I like the carb set up because it is really easy to jet not like mine a big pain in my a$$. So you wouldn't change to T-6s for sure go with the vitos pro stocks, but would you spring for the extra money and get the forged? If you had to pick between the 2 into 1 car set up, the timing plate, or the black box what would it be?

heres my own opinion-if i had to choose between the 2 into 1 setup, the timing plate, and the ignition box i would choose the ignition box. the 2 into 1 setup is good for tighter trails but no way in he*l it will pull as hard in the straight as the dual setup, the timing plate is also good as well. it is really between the timing plate and the box, if you have the money do both. they will both help out a little bit. and as far as your pipes def keep them they are a nice setup and the t-6s are good but not enough better to spend all that money to upgrade. and yes forged pistons are stronger and very good but in my own experience for some reason the wisecos just dont hold up. if you arent going to port it, go with the vitos forged super stock or pro stock pistons(whatever the correct ones are) they are notched on the exhaust port side to change port timing and gain a little upper rpm pull.
