Default Reeds???

I know these may be newbie questions but i really don't know....What exactly do reeds do? How do they improve performance? How much do they improve performance? and what kind is the best?

they dont improve performance..they are stock, they are part of the motor, i think it has something to do with allowing air flow...boyseen reeds are the best

well 1414 you are wrong so wrong! they control the amount of air/fuel mixture into the cylinder. the higher the rpm the more they open up which allows more air/fuel into the cylinder.a better reed cage and reeds allows quicker response and better flow. in my opinion v-force are better all around reeds.and i build motors at mad racing

V-force are the best. iv seen to many boyseen break to try them again.

Will the v-force work with the factory reed cage or do you need to purchase the v-force reed cage? What boysen. Need their cage?

I did, but I think my stock ones were just wore out. V-force has my vote.

Can someone tell me if you need the v-force reed cage or the boysen reed cage to use their reeds or will these reeds work as a direct replacement w/factory reeds?
