Nitrous the Banshee
#1
Has anyone had any experience with nitrous kits on banshees?? Do the motors last long or do they blow after a couple of bottles? Do the bottles last long or just a couple of passes? Is it a pain in the rear to install? I plan on putting it on the highest setting.

Hmm, a bottle-fed Banshee. I thought about the idea myself. I figure to make it reliable you need to build the whole motor for N2O- forged parts, hi-tech coatings, hi-performance ignition, good intake & exhaust, etc. I'm assuming they're not too hard to install, looks pretty straight forward with the wiring and plumbing of the lines. The difficult part is gonna be proper tuning. You could very easily use too big of a nitrous jet and blow your motor on the first nitrous run. I'd maybe call Rudy Kurtz at Port Magic Racing. I'm sure he can give you some good pointers on using N2O on Banshees. BTW, were you out at Pismo last weekend? Were you one of the many who found themselves chasing those 2 250Rs at Comp Hill? I didn't even waste my time...

From my experience the stock banshee engine can only handle about a 8 horse shot before things start to come apart. I have seen a couple banshee's set up by professionals and they just didnt have the power of the alcohol bikes. I know that ohton racing has had some success with NO2 but he also told me that he overkills on his parts, the best of everything... I think a better alternative is to build a alcohol motor. You retain SOME reliablity, and still have a potent punch.
