help jetting my raptor
#1
i bought a white brothers R4 slip on pipe this winter, and i need to rejet it. i have rejetted my blaster counteless times, but im a little confused about the dual carbs on the raptor. I have a K&N air filter and want to jet it for no airbox lid, and the pipe. I went to my local dealer and they gave me main jets for it, and i put them in and it still doesnt run right. the jets were only like 2 sizes bigger, i thought that was odd, but i dont know much about raptors. ITs is running lean right now so could i get any help on it?

I have a slip-on, k&n with no lid at 1200 feet elev. I run 160-165 mains with the air screws set at 3 turns each out from fully seated(make sure you fully seat them to set these) i run with stock needle in the stock setting. Mine runs great with this set-up. Also check your float levels. Hope this helps.

well bud, u have come to the right post..... i am running the same setup as you..... the R4, i just rejetted it for no air box lid.... 160, and 165 main jets.... it turns the raptor loose..... so loose the lid, u will get alot more air flow and alot more power trust me, lol

probably not too much, im at about 800 feet, i guess if it feels a little off, adjust the air screw, or move the needles, im guessing it wont really matter unless u are out west where it is like 5, 6, 7 thousand feet

I see you used the mains i told you but you didn't mention how far out on each mix screw?I'm pretty new to this and im always looking for a tweak in my rappy.
Evelation should not matter until you hit around 2500 ft above( but im not 100% sure)

when i had my carbs out i looked it all over and i only seen 1 screw... which is the air screw that is between the carbs on the engine side of the carbs. i just changed the main jets and it runs awesome. im sure if u were to adjust the air screws and everything u could get it even better.... but it is such a pain in the butt to get in there to adjust that air screw that i didnt even monkey with it anymore it. its good enuf for the girls i go with.... lol
