I want to extend my 300ex swingarm but the LoneStar swingarm cost $575. I didn't want to spend that much so I did a little research and found out some people put 250R swingarms on their 300ex's and it extends it 2 inchs. How much modifying will I have to do to make this work? Or will it work at all? Or would it be better to use a 400ex swing arm?

 

i dont think it will; unless you know how to fabricate

 

I think i saw an article about that a while back. The dirt wheels staff prepared a 300ex fo one of the bajas and they did it without cuting just mabee some shiming or a different bolt. I think that u could do it with some work. I dont think that the 400ex one will work. The 250x 300ex frames were simlar to the r frame's.

 

Will any year 250R swingarm fit? I found out they changed something in the 86's.

 

My buddy fit a 250r swingarm on my 250x which if you know. . is the exact same frame as a 300ex. . there was minor fab work but he did it all himself. . wasnt anything hard at all from what i remember. .
