Default 300ex motor swap

I just bought a USED 300ex. The engine has been through alot, I know, I owned it at one time. My question is which is the best and less expensive motor upgrade. Would I get more bang for my buck getting this one re-built, or buy another motor. I want something a little stronger than stock. What are the estimated prices for both. Keep in mind if the right route is the rebuild, I know nothing about how to do it. I would have to pay someone. Thanks for any advice.

If you would have to pay someone to have your motor rebuilt you would probably have to have someone put a motor in your chassis. I would rebuild my motor if i was in your situation.

I could put it in myself. I just don't have the knowledge to rebuild it. What about a price. Thanks
