Default jetting question

There are alot of pipes that run Hot and glow red at night time.
Does your bike feel like it is running lean? If it feels lean then it probably is and thats what causing the red pipe.
Just double check the plug. What the manufacture suggests isn't always right. You have to figure in your altitude, tempature, and other mods that you have on your bike. Jetting can vary from quad to quad even tho it has the exact same mods.

HOpe this helps

Default jetting question

Mob, three things will cause what you are describing.

1. A lean mixture. (The extra O2 will act like a cutting torch when you hit the O2 leaver, it gets hot quick)
2. Late timing. The piston will come up, the plug will light, and the piston will fall away with the fuel still burning down the hole. This will cause the pipe to get real hot because of the late burning fuel.
3. Slow burning fuels. If you use a fuel that is slow burning it will cause the same problem as the late timing. Using high octane race gas in a stock engine will do this. Also, nitromethane will burn so slow that it even burns out the pipes, thats why you see the 3 foot flames at night on a top fueler.
You will have to figure out which one of these tips fit you best to fix your problem.
